Our family & our farm

Greenacre has been worked by three generations of Hollises. We believe good food starts with living soil — and that everyone should know where their dinner was grown.

What we believe

Feed the soil, not the plant

When we converted to organic in 1998, our neighbours thought we’d lost the plot. Twenty-five years later our soil holds twice the organic matter, the skylarks are back and our crops shrug off dry summers.

We rotate every field on a seven-year cycle, grow our own green manures and use no synthetic fertilisers or pesticides — ever.
